Were Australias leading independent voice of the over 50s with more than 200000 members nationwide.

As the countrys largest not-for-profit organisation for the over 50s we represent the views of older Australians and their families and have "a seat at the table"with all levels of governments. We make sure our members voices are heard on the issues that count such as age discrimination mature age employment superannuation pension increases health care and aged care and cost of living.

Through advocacy research and policy development we make a positive difference.

We have helped shape federal and state policy in aged care reform age pension increases removing the superannuation guarantee age limit and securing government support to help keep older workers in employment all important steps as we build a nation for all ages.

Super is super important. Australians are working longer and living longer so a nation for all ages will fight to protect retirement savings and ensure any government policy changes are fair and just to all Australians.

Already we have successfully lobbied for the superannuation guarantee to be increased from 9 to 12 per cent a major boost to retirement savings. The power of our united voice was also behind the governments announcement to abolish the age limit on superannuation so those working beyond 70 are now treated equally.

Were fighting for the over 50s on a range of health and aged care issues including oral health vision health strategies improved standards in aged care and better access to in-home care services.

We believe all generations should have access to key health services and an awareness of their health care options. With a greater emphasis on preventative health strategies and an investment in health literacy well build a healthier nation for all ages.

The rising cost of living impacts us all particularly workers on low incomes and the aged whether pensioners or lower income self-funded retirees.

National Seniors works hard to ensure these Australians are not overlooked by advocating for fairness in the work place concessions that retain their value and realistic thresholds for means testing. In a nation for all ages every Australian should age with dignity and have an adequate standard of living.
