Brisbane Powerhouse

Brisbane Powerhouse is both a producer of contemporary performing arts and a multi-arts venue.

Nestled on the beautiful banks of Brisbane River (beside New Farm Park) the former power station has become a distinct landmark, both as a stunning industrial creation and as a hub for everything creative, including theatre, music, comedy, film, visual arts, festivals and ideas.

Brisbane Powerhouse now boasts a flexible 400 - seat end on stage theatre, an intimate 200 seat apron stage theatre, an 800 viewer open platform, two restaurants, conference and rehearsal rooms and offices.

The New Farm Ferry Terminal is located approximately 200m from Brisbane Powerhouse.

Bus
The 195 and 196 bus services stop at the end of Brunswick Street at Oxlade Drive, on the East side of New Farm Park. The 199 bus stops at Merthyr Road and Hawthorne Street. Both stops are a short walk from Brisbane Powerhouse.

Taxi
We definitely endorse a cheeky taxi ride to give you time to enjoy a glass of wine or a bite to eat before the show. The taxi zone is located inside the car park beside the Stores Building.

PARKING

If you're planning on driving, get here early and give yourself time to find a park! If you have a dinner or performance reservation, we encourage you to arrive 40-50 minutes early to give yourself enough time to find a park. Bicycle racks are located outside the Stores Building and Brisbane Powerhouse.

There are 148 car park spaces including six designated accessible parking spaces for permit holders in the Brisbane Powerhouse car park. The car park operates 24/7 where parking can be paid for at the automatic pay station located adjacent to the car park, or on exit.

- For less than 30 minutes parking is free at all times.
- Between 30 minutes and 3 hours, parking is $5 from 3am to 5pm daily.
- Between 3 hours and 12 hours, parking is $9 from 3am daily.
- For parking from 5pm the flat night rate is $9.

With only 148 car park spaces, we encourage patrons to plan their visit and consider alternatives such as public transport, taxi and rideshare services or cycling.

New Farm Park offers more than 200 free car parking spaces. During busy periods, a one-way link road is open Wed-Sat from 5pm which connects to New Farm Park from Brisbane Powerhouse car park.

New Farm Park gates open Mon-Fri 8.30am-11pm and Sat + Sun 6am-11pm. Exit gate open until 12.30am.
