Roundhouse Theatre |
La Boites Roundhouse Theatre is an epic-intimate space and Australias only purpose-built theatre-in-the-round.
We use it in two basic configurations. When it is in-the-round, this means that the audience is on all four sides of the action on stage. This configuration seats 400. When we use it in thrust mode, this means that the audience is on three sides. This configuration seats about 330. Both configuration offer a distinctive theatre experience.
La Boite Theatre is located in QUT's Kelvin Grove Campus, just up from Kelvin Grove Village - home to a retail precinct and several restaurants.
DROP OFF
There is a designated drop off zone in front of our main entrance, accessible via Gona parade, for taxis, rideshares, and visitors requiring ground level access.
PARKING
Limited pay-and-display street parking is available around Kelvin Grove Village, on Gona Parade, Musk Avenue, Carraway Street and Blamey Street, as well as QUT University parking stations. Parking stations managed by Secure Parking and QUT are also available, on the corner of Gona Parade and Musk Avenue (opposite the Roundhouse), on Robinson Place, on Victoria Park Road and Boundary Road.
QUT operates a Pay-&-Display Z9 Block, directly opposite La Boite Theatre. Please refer to our parking guide here. . Parking is $5 flat rate on weekends, however limited.
To secure a spot, we recommend arriving with ample time to find a carpark.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Bus: Bus stop #12 on Kelvin Grove Road is a 2-minute walk from the La Boite Theatre. Alternatively, Normanby Station and QUT Kevlin Grove Station are a 10-minute walk away.
Routes services include: routes 66, 325, 330, 340, 345, 390.
Train: Roma Street Station is the closest train station, with transfer bus services available to bring you closer to the venue (see above).
ACTIVE TRANSPORT
The drop-off area at 3 Gona Parade the perfect place to catch a safe ride to or from the venue. Simply set "La Boite Theatre" as your pick-up or drop off location.
