The title doesn't lie: Marcel voiced by Jenny Slate is a childlike boundlessly optimistic talking seashell with shoes previously the star of his own series of YouTube shorts. Now he's made it to the big screen courtesy of director Dean Fleischer Camp who co-stars as a version of himself who moves into Marcel's place after a divorce and decides to document the day-to-day life of his new housemate. What follows is both a reflection on mortality and a satire on online celebrity - and while suitable for all ages a decided change from the usual Disney fare. Opens January 5.
