Creative Treasures @ Wynnum Market

Creative Treasures @ Wynnum Market is an indoor, market-style shopping centre housed in a fully refurbished, air conditioned premises of some 350m2 in the heart of Wynnums shopping precinct. We opened our doors on April 11th 2012.

Our aim is to specialise in items from local and Australian designers of fashion clothing, jewellery, wearable art, visual art, handicrafts, woven and knitted items, woodwork, etc., coupled with other creative handcrafted items ranging from greeting cards to small home furnishings and decor pieces, with an emphasis on artistically and aesthetically tasteful locally produced items.

Along one side of the premises is a 30 metre art gallery wall where we exhibit the works of local artists only, featuring indigenous and culturally diverse artistic creations from young and old and from all walks of life.

The community is very important to us, and we would like to see a merging of people, a coming together in the spirit of cooperation, caring and sharing. Our workshops are aimed at uniting people, at handing down knowledge, at offering a place where everyone feels welcome and at home.

The market is divided into two areas - the front of store is our "Now"section, hosting brand new items as described above. The carpeted rear of the store is our "Then"section, where we stock LP records, CDs, DVDs, music cassettes, books, collectables, retro & vintage clothing and accessories, antique furniture, etc., from a number of vendors.

For any hobbyists or artistic types wishing to display their creations in a professional and well-presented retail store, we hope that you may consider utilizing a range of retail options in our centre, ranging from a jewellery tray, single shelf, table or lockable jewellery display case to a single/double clothes rack or a small and affordable shop stall space ranging in size up to 9m2. You could even combine with several of your friends to fill a space.

Our newly refurbished and air conditioned premises offers the general public a viable and cost-effective permanent retail outlet open 5-6 days a week to display and sell their goods at a fraction of the cost of establishing a business. (Hours 9am-5pm Tuesday to Friday, and 9am to 3pm Saturday. In November and December we are also open Mondays from 9am-1pm)
