Hello Sunshine 2025 | Cancelled
The Hello Sunshine Festival, scheduled for March 2025 in Melbourne and the Gold Coast, has been cancelled due to insufficient ticket sales.
The festival’s website announced the cancellation, stating that all ticket holders will be contacted directly regarding refunds.
Co-founder Danny, in a TikTok video, explained that despite initial optimism, ticket sales slowed towards the end of 2024, making the event financially unviable. He mentioned that cancelling the festival would result in a loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars but was necessary to prevent further financial strain.
The 2025 lineup included Stone Temple Pilots, Smash Mouth, Wolfmother, Kasey Chambers, and more. Stone Temple Pilots have since added shows at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on March 2 and Gold Coast’s HOTA on March 8 to their Australian tour.
The festival’s future remains uncertain as organisers assess the financial impact and consider the viability of future events. Ticket holders are advised to monitor official communications for refund procedures and further updates.
In recent years Australia’s music festival landscape has experienced several high-profile cancellations due to various challenges. Notably Splendour in the Grass, Groovin The Moo, Coastal Jam, Summerground, Vintage Vibes, Tent Pole, and ValleyWays have been called off. citing increasing costs and ticket sales challenges.
