There are so many things intrinsically wrong with apps like UberEats. Most Australians do not know that the apps are raking in huge profits while restaurants are struggling to make a living.

APPS charge restaurants ridiculously high commissions and fees that cost the restaurant most of its profit.

Most of this money goes off-shore, yes outside Australia.

When an order goes wrong, regardless of the cause, it costs the restaurant (not UberEats). We experienced an order where the driver arrived to collect the order 30 minutes after it was ready. By the time we received the order, the food was cold. UberEats gave us a refund but it was paid for by the restaurant (Grilld)
