Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 2025
February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and is held to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, how many women are affected by the disease each year, the impact it has on these women, the risk factors for ovarian cancer and its diagnosis and treatment.
Australians are encouraged to ovary-act this February to save lives and support women.
With the lowest survival rate of any women's cancer, and little improvement in treatment in nearly 50 years, Australians are being encouraged to ovary-act during February's Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to raise vital funds for Australians impacted by the disease.
Every year in Australia, more than 1,600 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and more than 1,000 will die. Only 45 per cent of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive five years post diagnosis. This is well below the average for all cancers in Australia.
Teal Ribbon Day
Teal Ribbon Day will be held on Wednesday 26th February 2025
On Teal Ribbon Day, we invite all Australians to purchase and wear a Teal Ribbon to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and to remember those who have died from the disease. Teal Ribbon Day is a way to show your support for ovarian cancer awareness, support and research and recognise those affected.
