HOTA: Home of the Arts

HOTA: Home of the Arts

Your place for live performances, lake-side strolls, star-gazing, cinema-watching, art and new ideas.

Discover great art, indoors and out.

There'll be Australian exclusives, celebrations of Queensland artists, a dedicated Children's Gallery, a rooftop bar and brand new restaurant, and never-before-seen works from the City Collection.

They say home is where the heart is.. we say home is where the art is.

In tropical parklands with the Surfers Paradise skyline as the backdrop, HOTA Home of the Arts is a contemporary cultural precinct where art meets life.

HOTA is the Gold Coast's home of live performances, lake-side strolls, stargazing, cinema-watching, art, conversation and new-ideas.

There's a unique outdoor stage in the parklands for live events, and indoors our two theatres feature performances from the very best national and international artists and theatre companies.

Two arthouse cinemas show a curated selection of blockbusters, foreign films, independent movies and documentaries and HOTA Café is a great place to relax and reconnect.

Outdoors our beautiful lake is a popular place to swim and our hidden adventure trail offers a never seen before view of Surfers Paradise.

HOTA was first named 'The Keith Hunt Community Entertainment and Arts Centre' and known as 'The Centre'. It was officially opened in December 1986 and is owned and managed by the Gold Coast City Council. With a second name change, it then became the 'Gold Coast Arts Centre' and this name remained until March 2010.

With a packed program of both ticketed and free events there's so much happening here. Check out what's on and plan your visit to HOTA, Home of the Arts.

Imagine a place where art captures your imagination. Where art is for everyone, where art is for life.
