AFLW: Gold Coast Suns

Gold Coast Suns in the AFLW Women's League.

In September 2017, Gold Coast were granted a license by the AFL to compete in the AFL Women's league from the start of the 2020 season. The club plays most home games at Carrara Stadium, though has occasionally played at Fankhauser Reserve in nearby Southport, and the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.

The Suns women won only two of their sixteen matches across the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Inaugural coach David Lake left the club at the end of the 2021 season. Lake was replaced by former North Melbourne football manager Cameron Joyce in June 2021.
